Connecting the Viewer to a Computer
Connect the viewer to a computer to manage the  les in the viewers internal memory.
We recommend that you use a computer that meets the following system requirements:

Preinstalled versions of Windows 7, Windows Vista (Service Pack 2), Windows XP Home
Edition (Service Pack 3), or Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 3)
Other
Other Built-in USB port recommended. Operation is not guaranteed with other USB ports.
Q Other versions of Windows are not supported. Operation is not guaranteed on home-built
computers or computers that have been upgraded from earlier versions of Windows.

Turn the viewer o and connect the supplied USB cable as shown, making sure the
connectors are fully inserted (the orientation and location of the computer connec-
tor may di er from that shown; consult the computer manual for details). Connect
the viewer directly to the computer; do not use a USB hub or keyboard.

Q Do NOT connect the cable while the viewer is on.

Turn the viewer on. The viewers internal memory will appear as a removable disk in
“My Computer”; copy  les to or from the viewer or delete  les using normal Windows
operations. External storage devices inserted in or connected to the viewer can not
be accessed from the computer.
Q Do not use the computer to format internal memory.
Q The computer may require some time to register the viewer with the system the  rst time
it is connected.
Q Viewer controls can not be used while the viewer is connected to a computer.
Q The viewer can not be used as a computer monitor.

After using the “safely remove“ option to remove the viewer from the system, turn
the viewer o and disconnect the USB cable.
Q Do not disconnect the cable before removing the viewer from the system. Failure to ob-
serve this precaution could result in loss of data.
