The following tips and tricks will help you get the most from your camera.

Choose the following settings for improved battery performance:
• bFACE DETECTION (P 85): OFF
• F AF MODE (P 86): r CENTER
• S POWER MANAGEMENT (P 99): n POWER SAVE
The Silent Mode
The Silent Mode
Turning on the silent mode (P 87, 93) disables the speaker and
ash in situations in which camera sounds or lights may be un-
welcome.
The Self-timer
The Self-timer
• To prevent blur caused by the camera moving when the shutter button is pressed,
use the two-second timer.
• To turn the timer o , tap BACK (
S and R), press the shutter button halfway (a and
g), or tap STOP (o).
