Troubleshooting
Warning Messages and Displays
The following warnings are displayed in the monitor:
Warning Description Solution
O (red) Low battery.
Charge the battery or insert a fully-charged spare
battery.
N (blinks red) Battery exhausted.
0 Slow shutter speed. Picture may be blurred. Use the flash or mount the camera on a tripod.
R
(displayed in red with
red focus frame)
The camera can not focus.
Use focus lock to focus on another subject at the
same distance, then recompose the picture (pg. 23).
If the subject is poorly lit, try focusing at a distance
of about 2m (6ft. 7in.).
Use macro mode to focus when taking close-ups.
Aperture or shutter
speed displayed in red
The subject is too bright or too dark. The
picture will be over- or under-exposed.
If the subject is dark, use the flash.
FOCUS ERROR
Camera malfunction.
Turn the camera off and then on again, taking care
not to touch the lens. If the message persists, contact
a FUJIFILM dealer.
ZOOM ERROR
LENS CONTROL ERROR
NO CARD
No memory card inserted when COPY is
selected in the playback menu.
Insert a memory card.
CARD NOT INITIALIZED
The memory card or internal memory is not
formatted.
Format the memory card or internal memory (pg. 90).
The memory card contacts require cleaning.
Clean the contacts with a soft, dry cloth. If the
message is repeated, format the memory card (pg.
90). If the message persists, replace the memory card.
Camera malfunction. Contact a FUJIFILM dealer.
PROTECTED CARD The memory card is locked. Unlock the memory card (pg. 9).
BUSY The memory card is incorrectly formatted. Use the camera to format the memory card (pg. 90).
