Basic Setup
A language-selection dialog is displayed the rst time the camera is turned on. Set up the camera as
described below (for information on resetting the clock or changing languages, see page 71).

Choose a language.
Tap to select a language.
Tap 6 or 7 to view ad-
ditional languages.

Set the date.
Tap the – or + signs to
set the year, month, and
day and then tap OK.
2 Tip: “NO”
Tap NO to skip the current step. Any steps you
skip will be displayed the next time the camera
is turned on.
2 Tip: “BACK”
Select BACK to return to the previous step.

To change the order in which the year, month,
and day are displayed, tap YY.MM.DD.

Set the time.
After selecting AM or
PM, tap the – or + signs
to set the time and tap
OK.

Choose a shooting mode.
Tap to select.

2 Tip: The Camera Clock
If the battery is removed for an extended period, the
camera clock will be reset and the language-selection
dialog will be displayed when the camera is turned on.
If the battery is left in the camera or an optional AC
adapter connected for about a day, the battery can be
removed for about a week without resetting the clock
or language selection.
